One of the greatest gains that I had in my trip to Zambia was the friendship that we built during the brief visit. The people we visited didn’t see us just as donors, but as true friends visiting them. The moment that touched me the most was when two of the boys from the school we visited (Paul and Timothy) offered to give us some of the vegetables they grew from their garden. They relied on growing vegetables on a small piece of land to sell and make a living. We offered to pay them, but they declined. Paul said, “How can we charge you, you are my brother!” What he said really touched my heart.
